Tim Burton's latest work Alice in Wonderland was one of my most anticipated movies in 2010, which turned out to be a huge disappointment in my opinion.
Despite the negiative comments on the internet,I decided to see the movie for myself anyways, I mean, this movie has the three elements which appeals to me hugely--
Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton, and Johnny Depp,
which is to say that it will be against my principles to miss it.
And so on Sunday morning, I went to 美麗華, hoping there will not be a lot of people due to the bad reviews circulating on the internet. But when I got there, the line was very much longer then I expected.
I got the seat in the middle section of the theater, with a large popcorn in my arms, semi-expected to see the movie. After it was over, the most impressive thing I could remember was the preview of Toy Story 3. (their 3D effect is awsome!)
All I can say about this movie was that it is totally a children's movie,
if you are under 15, you will have fun watching it; if you are over 18 and above, this movie will be too immature for you.
There are still some good stuff about this movie:
1. The costumes were great
2. Chirshire cat has more scenes than the disney animation
3. all the other animal characters were cute
And about the things I didn't like about this movie:
1. Anne Hathaway's lipstick was too dark - made her mouth looks really huge
2. Johnny Depp's makeover was the worst among all of his movie
3. Where's the walrus and the carpenter?
4. the card soliders were nothing like the animation
5. the song at the end of the movie does not match the story
there might be more I will think of later.
All in all, this movie is too childish...I think the mini series Alice filmed by the Canidians was better (story aspect) than this movie, although the end of the series was kind of bad, it still have a interesting plot and characters. (the hatter guy is very cute.)
